FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  What can a sign do for my business?

Studies continually show a sign can be your most important marketing investment. Most of all, it can draw foot traffic and attract impulse purchases. An inviting sign shows you are ready to serve. Successful restaurants and big-box stores know this.

Q: Why shouldn’t I go for the cheapest sign available?

Saving money is important, but achieving your marketing objective of bringing in more business makes signage a vital investment, not a simple expense. It's meant to last. Waiting to spend on signage until business improves isn't a good strategy.

Q: What's the first step to getting a sign created?

We first study what your landlord will allow and research the municipal sign code for your area. Equipped with that knowledge, we'll meet at your new site to discuss what you want to achieve and the various options available.

Q: What is involved in getting approval from the city?

As part of our sign packages, we will do all the code research and layout work necessary, securing landlord approval and pulling your permit.

Q:  How long does it take to get a new sign?

It's best to allow yourself four weeks for unlighted signs and six for lighted — more if you are in a city that takes longer than two weeks to approve a permit. We try to go as fast as necessary to get you your sign when you need it.

The biggest impact on timing is the city you're in. Some, like Everett, will approve sign permits over the counter. But most have gone to electronic filing and take about two weeks. Some, like Bellevue and Lynnwood, will take longer. We have seen four weeks or more in some cases.

Manufacturing takes about two to three weeks depending on the length of the production queue and the complexity of your sign. Installation usually occurs two or three days after that.

Q: How long can I expect my sign to last?

It depends on the materials, of course, but we use the good stuff. Metal letters are aluminum instead of sheet metal so they won’t rust. All paints are automotive-grade, which are known for their longevity and fade resistance. We use LED lighting whenever possible which has a rating of 200,000 hours or more. Our signs will most likely outlast your lease!

Q: Do you offer a warranty on your products?

Yes, we warrant our signs to be free of manufacturing and installation defects for a period of one year. This is longer than most manufacturers and many sign companies.
